The Fire Barn
About This Spot
Walking into The Fire Barn in Durand feels like stepping into a warmly familiar gathering spot where the hum of friendly conversation meets the comforting sizzle from the grill. The atmosphere carries an easygoing pace, inviting neighbors and visitors alike to settle in without a rush, linger over their meals, and share stories across tables. The space balances a casual, rustic charm with a fresh, well-kept vibe under its new ownership, making it both welcoming and vibrant without feeling loud or bustling.
The Fire Barn’s heart is undoubtedly its kitchen, where classic bar & grill favorites are prepared with care and a touch of local flavor. Whether it’s the tangy richness of tender pork carried in a pulled pork sandwich or the crisp, satisfying bite of house-seasoned fries, every bite reflects a straightforward, honest approach to comfort food. Seafood options like shrimp tacos and fried walleye bring a little coastal flair to the heartland, while offerings such as BBQ chicken pizza and expertly crafted burgers offer casual indulgence that feels just right after a long day.
Service here tends to be marked by genuine warmth—the kind that turns a regular server into a familiar face who remembers your order or checks in with thoughtful timing. There’s a natural rhythm to the interactions, one that speaks to a community-focused mindset where the experience matters as much as the food on the plate.
The Fire Barn’s drink menu complements the food thoughtfully, offering a range that keeps things interesting without overwhelming. From craft beer pitchers shared among friends to vibrant non-alcoholic options, the choices feel well suited for any mood or company. For families, the approachable kid’s beverage selection adds to the sense of inclusivity that makes the place a sturdy neighborhood anchor.
Part of The Fire Barn’s quiet charm comes from its balance of fresh flavors and approachable portions—it’s not about fuss or pretense but about sharing simple meals that feel both satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. Whether you’re stopping in for a laid-back dinner, catching up with friends over shared plates, or enjoying a casual night out, this is a corner of Durand where the pace slows just enough to savor both good food and the warmth of community.

The food was good. We went in for appetizers. Very disappointed in the small selection of appetizers to choose from. Deep fried mushrooms and onions were something we were expecting and some of the previous starters. We both ordered root beer. When we didn't get the root beer we asked another server. She told us they don't have root beer. I don't understand why our service didn't tell us at the time. Bring some bottled root beer in!

Fire Barn under new ownership, place was nice as before, clean. Service was great, it was a Monday night towards closing so not busy. Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap and Turkey Cheddar wrap. Chicken was great, seasoned just right, very fresh tasting. Coleslaw was a side and good. Sidewinder fries were delicious, seasoned and a little salt. I would definitely order sidewinders next time. Waitress was very nice and accommodating. I like the changes and flavors of the "new" Fire Barn.

I have to give The Fire Barn a shout out! And let my family and friends know they need to try this place! Every single meal I have ever had here has been amazing! Fresh, and delicious. And the service is above and beyond. The street corn salad and the Philly wrap have been my FAVORITE! But I am sure EVERYTHING is amazing.

I LOVE The Fire Barn. I have never had a bad experience since the new owners came along. Everyone is so kind. The food is consist and good everytime. I love the general manager, Sean. He's a star. He always checks in and greets the customers. It's much appreciated. Maddy is our favorite server. She is so sweet and adorable. She always has the best hairstyles. I love coming in just to see her hair. This time, I tried the new Pear Brie Flatbread and the pumpkin Chai Tini. The Fire Barn gets 5 stars from my family all day!

Lively vibe. Staff are super friendly. It's not the best place to converse and eat because it's so loud. There strawberry fields salad looked amazing. I feel that the were a bit heavy with the vinaigrette as the spinach leaves were drenched in it. Vinaigrette dressing was winning the battle. Walnuts were fresh however the chef should have light toasted them before tossing it in the salad. Guys....easy on the dressing! Guests want to still taste crispy greens. Toasting the walnuts is definitely required... please have the staff opinion.
